Hae Doh Sunim, abbot of Muddy Water Zen Temple in Royal Oak, Michigan, USA, has been elected as the next bishop of the American-European Parish of the Taego Korean Buddhist Order. He will follow the current bishop, Hae Kwang Sunim abbot of Bo Kwang Zen, Qigong & Meditation Centre in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, as leader of the parish.
Ven. Hae Doh was originally ordained as a dharma teacher on 2003, after which he founded Muddy Water Temple. He became a novice monk of the Taego order in 2007, and was full ordained as a monk in 2010.
In the fall he will be installed as the new bishop by Ven. Jong Mae, patriarch of the parish.
